If you are looking for a tremendous opportunity for career advancement and professional growth within the Public Works industry, the Village of Machesney Park has an opening.A fast growing, Northern Illinois community, the Village is seeking a Superintendent of Public Works to manage a contract-oriented department with an annual budget of $2 Million. The position answers to the Village Administrator and specific duties include: Manage the maintenance and repair of streets, parks, and municipal structures; negotiation of contract services and supervision of contractors; long range capital planning; knowledge of MS4 management and construction practices a plus. Candidates must have at least 5 years of progressively responsible public works experience including at least 2 years of supervisory responsibility. A Bachelor’s degree in public works administration or other related field a plus. Prior management experience may substitute for formal education. EOE. Qualified candidate must pass a pre-employment background check and physical.
