The YMCA of Rock River Valley located in Rockford, IL is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach. The Stingrays (RAYS) are a year-round YMCA competitive swim team.
The Stingrays (RAYS) have 150+ swimmers.
This is a part-time position. Position includes leadership in age group coaching and administrative oversight.
The right applicant should possess the following: 1. YMCA level coach certifications. 2. ASCA Level 2 or above required (may be certified within 6 months). 3. CPR, First Aid etc. 4. 5+ years swim coaching experience preferred. 5. A desire to lead a knowledgeable, loyal, highly-skilled coaching staff. 6. Organize and attend swim meets; 7. Educate and market on behalf of the Stingrays swim team. 8. Cooperation with Aquatic Director in recruitment of new swimmers. 9. Cooperative and respectful communication style with swimmers, parents and co-workers. 10. Strong core values that include respect, trust and integrity. 11. Ability to provide consistent, positive motivation to primary ages of 5-21 yrs. old. 12. Recognition of the value of every swimmer.
Stingrays currently train out the ID Pennock Family YMCA and one high school facility. RAYS are a coach-directed, parent-supported program. Additional program information can be found at www.rockfordymca.org/stingrays
Minimum Requirement: The incumbent will be a YMCA swimming coach in good standing, will have a proven track record of developing swimmers to YMCA Nationals, will be highly organized, preferred 4 year college degree, and have experience delivering programming at multiple sites. Knowledge of Team Manager and Meet Manager programs as well as MS Office.
